Furniture-Quality Solid Maple Hardwood
Watch this 2-minute video to see Daphne demonstrate how ourSmall Dog Ramp for Bedworks — and why it might be the perfect fit for your dog and home.
Our PAWGRIP™ Surface
Unlike typical carpeted ramps, our PAWGRIP™ surface offers incredible paw traction to dogs of all abilities. That means better grip for less straining, slipping, and sliding - and thus, more confidence.
In the side-by-side comparison, you can see the difference clearly: compared to carpet, PAWGRIP™ gives dogs a surface that is more grippy when climbing, turning, and stopping.
- Better traction than typical carpeted ramps
- No slippig, straining, or sliding on the incline
- More secure footing means more confident use
- Also easier to clean than carpet
The Hardwood Difference
Dog Ramps are made from solid Maple hardwood — not plywood, particle board, or soft pine like the others. That's what makes our ramps feel stronger, sturdier, and more stable, with the kind of finish and presence you’d expect from real furniture.
Hardwood also allows for richer finishing, more refined craftsmanship, and beautiful natural grain, so each ramp looks premium and unique in your home — not like a flimsy pet accessory.
- Solid hardwood construction for a sturdier, more stable feel
- Furniture-grade quality designed to complement home
- Unique natural wood grain in every ramp
- Smoother finishing and craftsmanship than typical pine/softwood ramps
Your Most-Asked Questions!
What types of dogs is this ramp best for?
What types of dogs is this ramp best for?
This ramp is ideal for small dogs up to 50 lbs, especially dogs that shouldn’t be jumping on and off furniture, such as dogs prone to IVDD like dachshunds and Frenchies, as well as other small dogs, or dogs that are senior, have arthritis, joint issues, or recovering from surgery, as well as puppies who need safer bed access while growing.
Will this ramp adjust to my exact bed height?
Will this ramp adjust to my exact bed height?
The ramp adjusts to seven height positions, covering bed heights from 12″ to 37″, as as long as your mattress height falls within that range, the ramp will work properly. It doesn’t need to match your bed height exactly - being an inch or two off is normal, is unnoticeable for you and dogs, and doesn’t affect safety or ease of use.
Can the side rails go on either side of the ramp?
Can the side rails go on either side of the ramp?
Yes. The side rails are removable and reversible, so they can go on either side. You can also use the ramp without rails, or only with some of the rails if you wish.
Can I place the ramp along the side of the bed instead of the foot?
Can I place the ramp along the side of the bed instead of the foot?
Yes. The ramp can work well along either side of the bed as well, especially if you have a sleighbed or large footboard that blocks access from the foot of the bed. It all depends on the orientation of your bedroom and what the best ramp placement would be.
Does the ramp need the anchor rope?
Does the ramp need the anchor rope?
While the ramp is quite stable on its own, due to its slim, ergonomic design and parallel placement at the foot of your bed, we recommend installing the anchor rope for extra safety and stability. It can be installed to virtually any bed setup, whether standard under-mattress, tied to a footboard, or even looped around a solid footboard or frame.
Can the ramp be folded down flat when not in use?
Can the ramp be folded down flat when not in use?
Definitely. Remove the side rails first, then the ramp folds flat (no disassembly required) to about 3.5" thick so it can slide under a bed or stand upright in a closet.
Can I get extra/replacement railings or PAWGRIP surface in the future?
Can I get extra/replacement railings or PAWGRIP surface in the future?
Yes! We do also sell extra or replacement side rail kits (including the two side rails and top rail), and even replacmenet board/surface mats, as all our ramps are designed to have the surface replaceable.
Will the base slide around on hard floors?
Will the base slide around on hard floors?
Nope, there are rubber pads/feet on the underside of the base that keep the ramp in place on tile, hardwood, or other floor types.
Can multiple dogs use the ramp at once?
Can multiple dogs use the ramp at once?
Yes, provided that the total weight of dogs using the ramp at once does not (dramatically) exceed 50lbs.
I have a bed frame that sticks out - will there be a gap between the ramp and mattress?
I have a bed frame that sticks out - will there be a gap between the ramp and mattress?
Yes, if you have bed frame or platform that is offset from the mattress, you may have a slight gap. We’re working on an attachment to address this but in the meantime we have simple solutions we can recommend to fill a gap. A gap does not prevent you or your dog from using this ramp.
Is the PAWGRIP surface easy to clean? What if it gets damaged?
Is the PAWGRIP surface easy to clean? What if it gets damaged?
Yes, we recommend using a gentle soap and a soft cloth. It cleans much more easily than carpet. And in fact, the entire board/PAWGRIP surface is designed to be easily replaceable in the future if it ever gets damaged or too worn.
Where do your ramps ship from?
Where do your ramps ship from?
Ramps ship from Tennessee for orders within USA, and from Mississauga for orders within Canada. International orders also ship from our Tennessee warehouse.
What if I need to return it?
What if I need to return it?
We offer a 60-day money-back guarantee so you can make sure the ramp is the right fit for your dog and your home. If your dog simply needs more time for training, we’re happy to be flexible.
If you do decide to return it, we’ll provide a prepaid return label and can even arrange a FedEx pickup from your front door. A small return fee applies to help offset processing and repacking costs as a small business.
Why is this ramp more expensive than others?
Why is this ramp more expensive than others?
Because our ramps are made from furniture-grade solid Maple hardwood, and 100% made in North America. Hardwood construction and premium finishing cost more than the other softwood/plywood ramps made overseas, but they deliver greater stability, durability, and longevity (plus you support local jobs & manufacturing).
We also don't compromise on features that benefit your dog. For example, this is the longest ramp on the market for a bed (as far as we know), which allows for a lower, easier incline for your dog - while other ramps are shorter to minimize their shipping costs. Not to mention the two-tier side rails & special PAWGRIP surface.
Many of our customers describe how they previously had other cheaper ramps prior to ours, that either broke or wore down. But as those customers now say, a Dog Ramp is a buy-once dog ramp that is a lifetime investment in your dog's safety and independence.
